Description: | Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: the cells are globose, or ovoidal (1.9-4.9 × 1.9-5.4 μm), single or in pairs (Fig. 2B). Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Sediment is present. Growth on glucose-yeast extract-peptone agar: streak cultures are creamy, butyrous, smooth, and glistening. The margin is entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: After 10 days at 25 °C, pseudomycelium and mycelium are absent. Formation of ascospores: Ascospores are not formed. | |||
