Description: | Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 3 days at 25 °C, the cells are subglobose, ellipsoidal, elongate (4.2-6.9 × 2.3-5.1 μm), and occur singly, in pairs or short chain. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 7 days at 25°C, streak cultures are creamy, butyrous, smooth, pulvinate, glistening and entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: On Dalmau plate cultures on corn meal agar after 10 days at 25°C, pseudomycelium and/or mycelium can be found under the cover glass. Formation of ascospores: After 10 days at 18°C on CM agar, YM agar, McClary’s acetate agar, malt extract agar, and V8 agar, ascopores are absent. | |||
