Description: | Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: After 3 days at 25°C, the cells are globose or ovoidal (2.1-4.4 × 3.1-5.3 μm), single or in pairs. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Sediment is present. Growth on glucose-yeast extract-peptone agar: After 3 days at 25 °C, streak cultures are creamy to brownish, butyrous, smooth, and glistening. The margin is entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: After 10 days at 25 °C, pseudomycelium and mycelium are absent. Formation of ascospores: Ascospores are not formed. | |||
