Description: Growth on yeast extract-malt extract (YM) agar: After growth on YM agar at 25 °C for 3 days, the cells are cylindrical (4.1-7.3 × 2.5-6.4 μm), elongate, and occur singly or in pairs. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Sediment is present. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal (CM) agar: On Dalmau plate cultures on corn meal agar after 10 days at 25 °C, pseudomycelium and/or true mycelium can be found under the cover glass. Formation of ascospores: After 10 days at 18 °C on CM agar, YM agar, McClary’s acetate agar, malt extract agar, and V8 agar. ascospores are absent.
