Description: Leaf spot visible on both surfaces, irregularly suborbicular, 2-10 mm wide, often angular, grayish white, usually but not always with a narrow brown margin and sometimes with nar-row brown line zonation. Fruiting amphigenous, whitish, densely distributed all over the spot. Stroma variable: sometimes small and composed of swollen, colourless, loosely aggregated hyphae below a stoma and in the epidermal cells around the stoma composed of more densely aggregated hyphae which may be slightly brown. Conidiophores numerous, emerging through the stomata and also erumpent through the cuticle when arising from hyphae within the epidermal cells, colourless, smooth, cylindric or ampulliform, straight or somewhat flexuous, not septate, not branched, not geniculate, 5-15 × 2-4 μm, conidial scars truncate, unthickened, about 1 μm in diam. Conidia colourless, cylindric or slightly ob-clavato-cylindric, smooth, straight or slightly curved, 1-5 septate, most commonly 3 septate, not constricted, obtuse at the apex, slightly narrowed at the base to the truncate, unthickened hilum, 20-50 × 2-3.5 μm.
