Description: | Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: After 3 days at 25°C, the cells are subglobose, ellipsoidal to cylindrical, (2.4-4.0) × (3.2-5.6) µm, single, in pairs, short chain and cluster, multilateral budding. Growth on glucose-yeast extract-peptone agar: Aerobic growth is butyrous, white, smooth, glistening and flat with entire margin. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: After 7 days at 25°C, pseudohyphae consist of branched chains of cylindroidal cells with verticils of ovoidal blastocondida giving a wavy appearance. Formation of ascospores: Ascospores are not formed. | |||
