 Description: Ascomata 155-290 μm high, 165-325 μm in diameter, solitary or gregarious, subglobose to pyriform, immersed or superficial, ostiolate, papillate, light brown to black. Necks 50-1300 × 25-40 μm, cylindrical, straight or curved, dark brown to black, sometimes two necks on one ascoma. Paraphyses absent. Asci eight-spored, elongate-fusiform, unitunicate, thin-walled, early deliquescing. Ascospores 400-570 × 4-6 μm (including apical chambers), filamentous, curved, hyaline, tapering at each end into an elongate, conical, apical chamber, 4-8 μm long, filled with mucus that is released through an apical pore.
