Description: | Yellowish brown to grayish lesions appear mostly on the upper half of the needle, later coalesce and cause necrosis, the needle die and the disease is known as "Leaf-blight". Fruiting appearing as minute black pustules on the discolorated needles. Stromata up to 60 μm wide, stomatal or erumpent, dark brown. Conidiophores densely fasciculate, olivaceous brown, rarely septate, not branched, 0-1 geniculate, 10-45 × 3-5 μm. Conidia pale yellowish olivaceous, obclavato-cylindric to obclavate, straight to curved, 1-7 septate, obtuse at the apex, obconically truncate at the base, 20-65 × 2.5-4 μm. | |||
