Description: Leaf spots none on upper surface. Fruiting hypophyllous, dark olivaceous, floccose, irregularly covering an area, without definite border, up to 8 mm wide. Stromata small, substomatal, composed of a few swollen olivaceous cells. Primary conidiophores up to 6 in a fascicle, emerging through a stoma, pale olivaceous brown, smooth, simple or 1-3 times branched, the branches often more or less as long as the main limb, usually curved or flexuous, multiseptate, denticulate (especially near the apex where the conidia are borne), sharply conic or conically rounded at the tip, up to 200 μm long, 3- 4.5 μm wide. Conidial scars unthickened, 1-1.5 μm wide, situated at the end of a short peg on a shoulder or at the apex of the conidiophores. Secondary mycelium superficial: hyphae arising from the base of the primary conidiophores, repent or arcuate, pale olivaceous, septate, variable in length, 1.5-4 μm wide, bearing secondary conidiophores as lateral branches. Conidia pale olivaceous brown, strongly curved or sigmoid, vermiform or rarely obclavate or clavate with a broadly rounded apex, mostly tapered towards both ends, 3-10 septate, not constricted, smooth, 20-40 × 4-4.5 μm.
