Description: Basidiocarp resupinate, effuse, loosely attached, 80-150 μm thick in section (aculei excluded), membranaceous-pulverulent. Hymenial surface white or whitish, grandinioid, not cracked; margin thinning, concolorous, pruinose-arachnoid. Aculei fairly small, usually separate, 2-6 per mm, conical, apically slightly fimbriate due to projecting hyphidia. Hyphal system monomitic; hyphae nodose-septate. Subiculum fairly uniform, composed of medullary layer, with fairly dense texture; hyphae colorless, 2-3.5 μm diam., thin-walled. Hymenial layer with fairly compact texture; hyphae colorless, quite indistinct, mainly vertical. Trama with compact texture; hyphae mainly vertical. Hyphidia occasionally present. Crystals scattered or crowded in trama, subiculum and subhymenium. Cystidia lacking. Basidia utriform, 25-42 × 5.5-6.5 μm, 4-sterigmate. Basidiospores elliposid, adaxially flattened, smooth, thin- or slightly thick-walled, with one or two distinct oil-drops, 9-11.5 × (4-) 4.5-5.3 μm, IKI-, CB-.

Note: This species is characterized in having grandinioid hymenial surface without any kind of cystidia. Hyphoderma etruriae Bernicchia resembles H. acystidiatum by the grandinioid hymenial surface, but differs from the latter in having capitate cystidia and broader basidiospores.
