Description: Basidiocarp effuse, adnate, submembranaceous to membranaceous, 50-300 μm thick in section (dissepiments excluded). Hymenial surface cream or ivory yellow, poroid; margin paler, thinning, cottony-arachnoid. Pores angular or circular, 4-5 per mm; tube layer up to 700 μm deep, dissepiments 40-150 μm thick. Hyphal system monomitic; hyphae simple-septate. Context homogeneous, composed of medullary layer, with fairly loose texture; hyphae colorless, variously oriented, fairly distinct and straight, 2.5-5 μm diam., with 0.4-1 μm thick walls. Trama with similar texture of density as in subiculum; hyphae colorless, vertical, 2-4 μm diam., thin- or slightly thick-walled. Subhymenium slightly thickening. Capitate cystidioles (basidioles) numerous in the hymenium, colorless, apically rarely covered with yellowish resinous materials, 15-30 × 5-7 μm (resinous materials excluded), thin-walled. Basidia clavate with stalked bases, or suburniform, 12-23 × 5.5-6.5 μm, 4-sterigmate. Basidiospores subglobose, smooth, thin-walled, with one or more oil-drops, 5-5.7 × 4-4.5 μm, IKI–, CB–.

Note: Hyphodontia poroideoefibulata is distinct from other poroid Hyphodontia spp. in having simple-septate generative hyphae. Ultrastructural study was undertaken for H. poroideoefibulata (Wu 2001). Hyphal septa of this species were found to have dolipores with continuous parenthesomes, indicating placement of this species in Hyphodontia.
