Description: Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: After 3 days at 25°C, the pellicles formed along the edges of the tube above the surface of the medium and the butyrous sediment could be found. Cells reproduced by mulltilateral budding and cells were globose, ovoidal, or ellipsoidal (4.0-7.5 × 3.8-7.1 μm). The cells occurred singly, in pairs or short chain. Growth on glucose-yeast extract-peptone agar: After 3 days at 25 °C, the colonies were cream, smooth, dull, with a butyrous texture, undulate margin, and convex eleviation. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: After 7 days at 25 °C, pseudomycelium and mycelium are absent. Formation of ascospores: Sporulation was observed on Fowell acetate agar after 7 days at 18℃, ascus was unconjugated and directly formed from diploid cells, and the asci were persistent. Each asci contained one to four saturn-shaped ascospores.
