 Description: Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 3 days at 25 °C, the cells are subglobose (4.2-7.8 × 2.6-6.6 μm), and occur singly or in pairs. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 7 days at 25 °C, streak cultures are creamy, butyrous, smooth, convex, glistening and entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: On Dalmau plate cultures on corn meal agar after 10 days at 25°C, neither pseudomycelium nor true mycelium is formed under the cover glass Formation of ascospores: After 10 days at 18°C on CM agar, YM agar, McClary’s acetate agar, malt extract agar, and V8 agar, ascospores are absent.
