Description: | Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 3 days at 25 °C, the cells are subglobose (3.3-6.7 × 2.6-5.6 μm), occur singly or in pairs. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 7 days at 25 °C, streak cultures are creamy, butyrous, smooth, umbonate, dull and entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: On Dalmau plate cultures on corn meal agar after 10 days at 25 °C, pseudomycelium can be found under the cover glass. Formation of ascospores: After 10 days at 18 °C on CM agar, YM agar, McClary’s acetate agar, malt extract agar, and V8 agar, ascopores are absent. | |||
