Description: Vegetative structures resembling A. arbuscular. Primary sporangia narrowly clavate or cylindrical; 90μ long by 45μ in greatest diameter with an apical papilla. Secondary sporangia formed predominantly in basipetal succession; ovoid to nearly spherical with truncate ends; contents pink, becoming brown as the zoospores approach maturing. Resting sporangium narrowly to broadly ovoid, with truncate base and pronounced apical beak; 50-105μ long by 30-45μ in great width, predominantly 70-90μ long by 35-42μ width; generally slipping out of their containers at maturing, the exospore thick-walled dark orange brown; widely spaced pits. Germination by cystogenes type; cysts 12-15μ in diameter; isogamous gametes from the cyst 7.5-9.5μ in diameter.
