MEA, 25°C, 7 days: colony diameters 30-32 mm, plane, velutinous, farinose; mycelium white, overlaid with clustered abundant orange red (8A4-8) sclerotia, 103-111 mm diam; conidiogenesis conspicuous; exudate and soluble pigment absent; reverse greyish green (30B4-6, 30C4-7, 30D5-7), dull green (30D4), sector greyish yellow (4B3-5, 4C3-6), pale orange to orange (5A3-7, 5B4-7) or light orange to orange (6A4-7, 6B4-7). G25N, 25°C, 7 days: colony diameters 11-15 mm, center raised, sulcate, floccose, subcenter, margin velutinous, margin irregular; mycelium white; conidiogenesis moderate to heavy, light green (29A5) to yellowish green (29B7); exudates yellowish white (1A2-3), light yel-low (4A2-4), greyish yellow (4B4-6), olive to olive yellow (4D4-7) or olive brown (4E5-8); soluble pigment lacking; reverse orange grey (5B2), greyish orange (5B3-6), brownish or-ange (5C3-6), brownish yellow (5C5-7) or greyish yellow (4B2-5). CYA, 5°C, 7 days: no growth. CYA, 37°C, 7 days: no growth. Conidiophores and conidia: conidiophores on MEA borne from superficial or aerial mycelium; stipes septate, apices vesiculate, 74-324 × 2.7-4.0 μm, smooth to finely roughened, more or less thick-walled, strictly monoverticillate, vesicles up to 3.9-5.6 μm, bearing verticals of 7-17 phialides; phialides ampulliform, 9.5-12.7 × 2.9-3.5 μm, with long collula; conidia mostly ellipsoidal, less often subspherical, 2.4-3.2 × 1.9-3.2 μm, smooth to very finely roughened, borne in well-defined columns.
