Description: Infected insect host covered by weft of mycelium, margin spreading, cottony, white. Hyphae hyaline, septate, smooth-walled, sparingly branched, 3.0-5.6 μm wide. Synnemata sparse, arising from the dorsal side of host cephalothorax, erect, 1.5 mm in length, subulate, white. Conidiophores arising laterally from hyphae or synnemata, integrated, mostly monophialidic, sometimes polyphialidic, with 2-4 necks. Conidiogenous cells erect, septate, hyaline, smooth, solitary, ampulliform to subcylindrical, 20.6-46.0 μm long, base somewhat inflated, (12.7-)17.5-36.5 × 2.8-4.0 μm, mostly apex abruptly tapering, forming a thin, long, smooth or rough neck, 9.5-17.5 × 0.6-1.0 μm. Conidia hyaline, smooth, one-celled, fusiform to obovoid or obpyriform, sometimes fusiform, apiculate, produced singly or rarely in groups at the neck apex, sometimes embedded in mucous sheath, 5.6-6.4 × 2.0-3.2 μm.
