Description: Basidiocarp effuse, adnate, soft, densely byssoid between aculei, 50-80 µm thick in section (aculei excluded). Hymenial surface Pinkish Buff, odontioid-hydnoid, usually cracked; margin paler, thinning, filamentose-arachnoid. Aculei crowded, sometimes fused at their bases, 4-7 per mm, subulate, apically slightly fimbriate, 200-800 × 80-160 µm. Hyphal system monomitic; hyphae nodose-septate. Subiculum uniform, composed of medullary layer, with rather dense texture; hyphae fairly horizontal next to substratum, ± vertical near subhymenium, richly ramified, rather distinct, sometimes rather short-celled, 2.2-4.5 µm diam., thin- or slightly thick-walled, occasionally covered with brownish granular material, which easily dissolves in KOH. Subhymenium not clearly differentiated, composed of rather compact and vertical hyphae. Trama with compact texture; hyphae vertical and straight, full of brownish granular material. Cystidia numerous, slightly projecting, not encrusted, cylindrical with narrow apices, slightly flexuous, with homogeneous contents, 25-55 × 5-8 µm, thin-walled. Basidia subutriform or nearly cylindrical, sometimes slightly flexuous, usually guttulate, 16-21 × 3.5-4 µm, 4-sterigmate. Basidiospores broadly ellipsoid, smooth, thin-walled, usually with one yellowish oil-drop, 4.2-5 × 3-3.5 µm, IKI-, slightly BC+.
