 Description: Pileus 3-8 cm, funnel-shaped to infundibuliform, egg-yellow, smooth, margin lobed, flesh white to pale yellow, solid to fragile, odor fruity. Hymenium decurrent, gill-like ridges, branch to veins, concolorous with the pileus. Stipe equal, 2-4 × 0.5-1.5 cm, solid to cham-bered, concolorous with the pileus. Spore print white. Spores elliptical to oval, hyaline, smooth, with oil drops, 7-9 × 4.5-6 μm, I-. Cystidia not seen. Basidia slenderly clavate, 50-66 × 6-10 μm, with 4 sterigmata and basal clamp. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae 2-6 μm across, septa with clamp.

 Note: This species is edible and delicious. Cantharellus subcibarius is similar to C. cibarius in morphology but with smaller basidiospores (Bon, 1987; Breitenbach and Kranzlin, 1986; Imazeki and Hongo, 1989).
