 Description: Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: After 3 days at 25°C, the cells are ovoid, ellipsoidal to cylindrical, (4.0 –6.4) × (6.4-11.2) µm, single, in pairs, multilateral budding. Growth on glucose-yeast extract-peptone agar: Aerobic growth is cream, butyrous, smooth, glistening and convex with entire margin. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: After 7 days at 25°C, pseudohyphae are not formed. Formation of ascospores: Ascus is formation by cell conjugation. Two to four spheroidal and warty wall spores are formed per ascus.
