 Description: Subiculum prominent, developed on the surface of the bark, hyphae spiny and branched. Ascosmata superficial on the subiculum, densely gregarious, globose, 390-468 μm in diam., collabent on drying to form cupulate shape, setae around the wall surface, dark brown, simple, up to 234 μm long. Peridium 49-68 μm thick, composed of two layers of pseudoparenchymatous cells, the outer layer brown, polygonal with 7-10-layered cells,the inner layer hyaline, flattened with 3 to 5 layered cells, with Munk pores between adjacent cells. A dome-like Quellkörper at the apex of the centrum is present. Asci basal on a large cushion, broadly clavate long-stalked, 64-spored, 98-127 × 10-13 μm. Ascospores, elliptical, straight or slightly curved, 1-celled, guttulate at each end, hyaline, 6-10 × 2-3 μm.

 Note: Disetribution: Tropical Africa, Malaya, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, North Vietnam. This species is reported to have asci 32-spores and aseptate ascospores. However, the Taiwan specimen has 64-spores in each ascus and the ascospores are 0-1seatate.
