 Description: Ascostroma growing on infected scale insect or whitefly, pulvinate, circular, discoid, brown (6E8, 7D8), 1.5-1.8 mm in diam., up to 0.9 mm high, margin rounded or obtuse, without membranous hypothallus, internal light brown to yellowish brown (5D5), surface slightly verrucose, minutely pruinose, ornamented with mumerous scattered, slightly protruding ostioles, brownish grey (7C-D2). Perithecia solitary or aggregated, peripheral or partly immersed in the ascostromata, globose to ovoid, 200-230 μm in length, 160-200 μm wide, with a 24-32 μm wide wall. Asci cylindrical, 8-spored, bitunicate, 80-176 μm long, 6.0-10.0 μm wide, with a hyaline cap, slightly truncate, ca. 1.6 μm thick, 3.2-4.0 μm wide. Ascospores filiform, slender, hyaline, tapering towards ends, upper end rounded near the apex, lower end acute near the tail, 4-9 septate, 56-106 × 2.0-3.2 μm, forming rectangular to cylindrical cells, 7.9-25.4 × 2.0-2.4 μm.
