Description: | Leaf spots circular, ellipsoid, or scattered, sometimes confluented to irregular, then expanded to very large, yellowish to light brown, sometimes with narrow halo, 0.2-6 × 0.1-3.5 cm. Stromata hypogenous, sometimes amphigenous, scattered, black, pulvinate, expanded very large, 0.5-2.5 × 0.5-1.5 mm, 0.3-0.4 mm high. Perithecia embedded in a stroma, globose to obpyriform, 6-28 in each stroma, 260 × 390 μm, ostiolate. Asci unitunicate, clavate, with a short stalk, 8-spored 74-108 × 8-10 μm. Ascospores biseriate, cylindrical-ellipsoid to ellipsoid, hyaline to very pale olivaceous, 1-celled, 17-24 × 4 μm. Paraphyses filiform, non-branched, hyaline, septate, 2-6 μm wide. | |||
