 Description: Perithecia immersed or semi-immersed or superficial, fixed to the substrate with mycelium-like rhizoids, globose, with a short neck at the apex, ostiolate, translucent when immaturity, black, fragile, 208-488 × 256-312 μm. The neck 32-48 × 40-72 μm. Terminal hairs surrounding the ostiole, thick-walled, septate, straight, acuminate at the apex, dark brown to black, paler towards the apex, up to 2 mm long, 4 μm wide. Lateral hairs septate, colourless, narrower towards the tip, 2.8 μm wide. Asci globose to subglobose, evanescent, 13-20 × 12-15 μm. Ascospores, sublemon-shaped, depressed on one side, an inconspicuous germ pore at each end, copper color, 9-11 × 5-7 μm.
