 Description: Stroma pulvinate, oval or circular, consisting of dense interwoven mycelial mat, sometimes margin surrounded by membranous hypothallus, white to yellowish white (4A2), 0.9-2.0 mm in diam. Ascostroma tubercles, erect, solitary or aggregated, arising from the stromata, concolorus with the stroma, containing one perithecium. Perithecia flask-shaped, with a long neck, sometimes ovoid or irregular, 320-440 μm in length, 140-360 μm wide, wall 24-40 μm thick. Asci cylindrical, bitunicate, up to 400 μm long, 7.9-14.3 μm wide, with a distinct thickened hyaline cap, 4.8-7.1 μm thick, 8.7-9.9 μm wide. Ascospores cylindrical, occasionally narrow-oval, tapering slightly towards the ends, ends somewhat rounded to obtuse, 8.7-19.1 × 2.8-4.0 μm, sometimes curved, one-celled, occasionally with 1 septum in the middle.
