 Description: Apothecia 1.0-1.2 mm, growing singly or gregariously on substrate. Disc flat or concave, yellow when fresh, dark yellow when dried, stipitate. Stipe central, cylindrical. Asci clavate-cylindrical, (104-)109-120(-126) × (9.6-)10.4-14.4(-6.9) μm, conical at apex, J-, 8-spored, uniseriate or biseriate. Ascospores hyaline, (18.9-)19.5-25.2 × (4.1-)5.0-6.9 μm, fusiform, rounded at the proximal end, tapered toward the distal end, slightly curved, non-septate, with two big guttules. Paraphyses hyaline, obtuse at the apex, 1-1.5 μm in widest point, non-septate equal or exceeding to the asci. Subhymenium of interwoven hyphae. Ectal excipulum of textura porrecta.

 Note: This species is with characteristics of ascospores rounded at the proximal end and tapered toward the distal end. It is a common species in Europe and America. However, it is not as common as the Lachnum species found in Taiwan.
