 Description: Ascomata 140-360 μm high, 160-340 μm in diameter, solitary or gregarious, globose to subglobose, immersed or partly immersed, ostiolate, papillate, coriaceous, hyaline to pale brown. Necks 50-400 μm long, 40-100 μm in diameter, conical or cylindrical, periphysate, hyaline to light yellowish. Catenophyses present. Asci 50-65 × 22-31 μm, eight-spored, fusiform to clavate, short pedunculate, without an apical pore, thin-walled, unitunicate, deliquescing early. Ascospores 14-24 × 8-13 μm, one-septate, ellipsoidal, not or slightly constricted at the septum, hyaline. Appendages initially surrounding the spore, 10-20 × 3-5 μm and closely appressed to the spore wall, later separating to form long appendages when expanded in water, up to 40 μm long, polar, spoon-shaped at base, attenuate, channeled, attached to a protrusion at the ascospore apex.
