 Description: Ascomata 153-311 μm high, 150-271 μm in diameter, solitary, globose to subglobose, superficial to immersed, ostiolate, papillate, membranous, hyaline, becoming greyish brown with age. Necks 98-581 μm long, 43-98 μm in diameter, cylindrical, centric, periphysate, sometimes subapical portion of the neck becoming dark brown, forming a ring around the neck. Peridium 8-17 μm thick, catenophyses present. Asci 95-117 × 20-22 μm, eight-spored, clavate, short pedunculate, unitunicate, thin-walled, slightly thicker at the apex with a simple pore, retraction of cytoplasm in the subapical region. Ascospores 20-33 × 9-13 μm, ellipsoidal, one-septate, hyaline, not constricted at septum, thick-walled, with or without appendages. Appendages when present 8-20 × 2.5-5 μm, bipolar, initially appressed closely to one side of the spore, later uncoil to form a long thread when in contact with water.
