 Description: Ascomata sparsely gregarious, immersed, globose with a papillate ostiole, 117-166 μm in diam. Peridium 8-12 μm thick, composed of 3-5 layers of compressed, polygonal, dark brown pseudoparenchymatous cells. Asci bitunicate, broadly cylindrical, sessile, basal, 8-spored, 59-71 × 10-12 μm, pseudoparaphysate. Ascospores biseriate, elliptical with rounded ends, 16-20 × 4-5 μm, 2-septate, the primary septum emerging below and constricted.

 Note: This species was reported from Taiwan (Yen & Chi, 1954) on Saccharum as Didymos-phaeria taiwanensis Yen & Chi, which has been placed as a synonym of Paraphaeosphaeria michotii (Eriksson, 1967).
