Peridium 28-47 μm thick, composed of 4-5 layers of brown, thick walled polygonal pseudoparenchymatous cells, beset with hyphae. Hyphae brown, septate, flexuous, 3-4.7 μm wide, similar to the mycelial hyphae of the subiculum which penetrate the host tissue. Paraphyses numerous, filiform, hyaline, branched and septate.
