Description: | Ascomata hysteriaceous, opening by a longitudinal slit, evenly scattered, parallel mutually along the axis of the host, erumpent and appearing superficial with raised ruptured tissue surrounding, 0.8-1.5 mm base flattened. Peridium carbonaceous, 20-36 μm thick at sides, the base reduced, 10-20 μm thick. Asci elliptical, 50-56 × 4-4.5 μm, short-stalked, 8-spored. Pseudoparaphyses branched, 2-3 μm wide. Ascospores oblong, 7-8 × 3-4.5 μm, rounded at ends, strong constricted at the slightly submedian septum, smooth, hyaline, with guttules, uniseriate in ascus.

Note: | This material confirms very well to the account of Zogg (1962) except the slightly larger ascopsores. Hysterothecia are parallel to each other. That is unusually in this species and should be attributed to the nature of its bamboo host. As the arrangement of hysterothecia is subject to different hosts, the variations of this feature on different material can be accepted.
