Public Deposit

BCRC is a secure repositoy for the microorganisms by freeze-drying, -80°C freezing and liquid nitrogen. The computerized culture preservation system is applied to maintain the microorganisms. Duplicated cultures are preserved in other safe place to prevent loss upon accidents.

Biological resources by public deposit will be available. The relative information will be provided from the online catalogue of BCRC.

☛Rights of Depositors


For those who deposits microorganism resources, or cell resources, or gene resources such as nucleotides, plasmids, clones etc., shall take up to 3 tubes per biomaterials deposited after paying the transportation fees during the deposition period.
For those who deposits Gene banks, shall take 1 time per gene bank material deposited after paying the transportation fees during the deposition period.
For those who deposits algae, shall take 1 tube per algae deposited after paying the transportation fees during the deposition period.

Please also provide us the following information if possible:

  1. Declaration or Statement: the strain is not harmful to plants or animals. In the beginning, please highlight the name and Original no. (With Letterhead of University, signed)
  2. Short description about these strains (and their related genus/species), the environment, characteristic, taxonomy, biosafety description, description of interaction between fungi and plants (such as promoting plant growth, symbiosis, plant damage, etc.)….
  3. journals about this strain or genus (related species)

Transboundary transfer of the bacteria may involve inspection at the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine. We need to look into the IMPORT requirements after getting those deposit documents.

Therefore, it is very important that you send the material AFTER I give you a green light.
