 Description: Fruiting on swollen tissues of the pseudofolium ('false leaf) caused by the rust fungus Poliotelium hyalospora (Sawada) Mains. External mycelium absent. Stromata composed of several large hyaline cells. Conidiophores 3-8 in a divergent fascicle, hyaline, obdavate, swollen at the base, closely multiseptate, constricted at the septa, straight or slightly curved at the apex, 0-2 geniculate, rarely branched, truncate at the apex, 50-85 tim long, 6-8 um wide at the base, 3-4 μm wide near the apex; conidial scars unthickened, 1.5-2.5 μm wide. Conidia hyaline, obclavate, nearly all straight, 3-11 indistinctly septate, subobtuse or blunt at the apex, obconically truncate at the base, 25-75 × 3.5-5 μim, hilum unthickened.
