Description: | Growth in glucose-yeast extract-peptone broth: After 3 days at 25 ℃, the cells are ellipsoidal (3.7-8.2×3.3-5.5 μm), and occur singly or in pairs. Vegetative reproduction is accomplished by multilateral budding. Sediment is present. Growth on yeast extract-malt extract agar: After 7 days at 25℃, streak cultures are creamy, butyrous, smooth, convex, glistening and entire. Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar: On Dalmau plate cultures on corn meal agar after 10 days at 25 ℃, neither pseudomycelium nor true mycelium is formed under the cover glass. Formation of basidiospores: After 10 days at 18 ℃ on CM agar, YM agar, McClary’s acetate agar, malt extract agar, and V8 agar, sexual spores are absent. | |||
