Description: Stromata flattened pulvinate or scutate, minutely tomentose, white to light yellow (4A4), 1.0-1.5 mm in diam, 0.4-0.6 mm high, usually surrounded by a thin translucent hypothallus, white, 0.2-0.5 mm wide, consisting of densely interwoven hyphae. Hyphae sometimes swollen, hyaline, smooth-walled, 3.2-6.4 μm wide, usually with 0.8-2.2 μm wide, thick-walled. Pycnidia embedded in stroma, orifices arranged in a peripheral circle, often covered by a copious mass of orange exudate. Pycnidia ovoid or flattened globose, sometimes irregular, 120-280 × 150-320 μm, with a wide, circular ostiole. Pycnidiophores penicillate, mono- or biverticillate, bearing whorls of 2.5 phialides. Phialides thin, slender, narrow cylindrical, with truncate end, 7.8-17.5 × 1.2-1.8 μm, paraphyses originating from conidiophore, linear, filiform, hyaline, 30-100 μm long, (rarely up to 350 μm), 1.0-1.6 μm wide. Pycnidiospores extruded in masses, orange (6A-B7), greyish orange to golden yellow (5B6-7) or pale orange to light orange (5A3-4), fusoid, occasionally slightly curved, ends acute, apiculate, (6.4-)7.9-12.7 × 1.6-2.4 μm, one-celled, hyaline, smooth-walled.
