Description: Basidiocarp resupinate, effuse, ± separable, membranaceous, 100-200 μm thick in section. Hymenial surface light orange to light yellow, smooth, occasionally cracked; margin thinning, paler, filamentose-pruinose. Hyphal system dimitic; generative hyphae simple-septate. Subiculum fairly uniform, composed of medullary layer, with fairly loose texture; hyphae variously oriented, sparsely ramified, distinct, fairly straight, colorless or rarely yellow, 2.5-5 μm diam., thin- or slightly thick-walled. Hymeniumsomewhat thickening, with dense texture; hyphae colorless, narrower than those of subiculum. Binding hyphae few, sparsely scattered in deep subiculum, sometimes difficult to find, yellow or yellowish brown. Gloeocystidia numerous, mostly arising from subiculum, immersed or emergent, colorless or yellow, moniliform, 5-10 μm diam., up to ca. 100 μm long, thin- or slightly thick-walled, slightly SA+. Basidia utriform, 28-42 × 6-8.5 μm, 4-sterigmate. Basidiospores ellipsoid, adaxially concave, with a distinct apiculus, smooth, thin-walled, 9.5-12.5 × 4.5-5.5 μm, IKI slightly bluish black, CB–.

Note: All microscopical characters of the Basidiocarp of this species are similar to those of Gloeomyces graminicola, except that basidiospores of G. ginnsii are much larger.
