 Description: Pileus 4--4.5 cm broad, hemispheric to convex, becoming broadly convex to plane, surface dry, brown to blackish brown. Pileus cutis interwoven fascicles of hyphae 4-10 um wide, tubular, thin walled, end-cells clavate. Context 0.5-1.5 cm thick, whitish and greyish white, changing blue when cut. Hymenium brown and greyish brown. Tubes with cross veins produced in two definite layers, boletinoid and compound, the superior tubes 1-1.2 mm long, 0.5-0.7 mm diameter, the inferior tubes 1.2-2.2 mm long, 0.8-1 mm diameter, adnate or sinuadnate. Pores small, round to mostly irregular sound, 11-15 per cm. Stipes 9.5-10.5 cm long, 1-2 cm thick, clavate, sub-equal, solid, bulbous in base, pale brown and striate at the apex, the surface often with cracks. Basidiospores 7.8-14.5 × 5-7.5 μm, ovoid, elliptic ovoid, smooth, hyaline to pale golden yellow. Pleurocystidia 22-45 × 9-18.2 μm, fusiform. Cheilo-cystidia 22-35 × 8-15 μm, broad fusiform. Tube trama divaricate.

 Note: Fruitbodies of Sinoboletus fuscus are characterized by a sombre brown or brown-black color, whitish and greyish context, changing blue when cut, the badidiospores is different from Sinoboletus magniporus Zang in the larger and variable size basidiospores, the type specimens of Sinoboletus magniporus described as 10.4-11.7 × 7.8-9.1 μm and the context not changing color when cut (Zang, 1992).
