Description: Colony growing rapidly on SMA, 9 cm in diam in 4 days at 24°C; turf dense, white at first, near light olive-gray when old in age. Sporangiophores sharply recurved distally at first, then erect, soon reaching the lid of a Petri dish (2 cm height) , 7.5-12.5 μm in diam, usually simple, bearing terminal sporangia and giving rise laterally at varying intervals to many pedicellate unispored sporangiola. Primary sporangium globose to subglobose, 55-70 μm in diam, gray; wall hyaline, minutely spinulose, diffluent; columella hemispherical, 10-32.5 × 10-27.5 μm, hyaline, with basal collar. Sporangiospores in terminal sporangia subglobose to ovoid, 7.5-10 μm in diam, hyaline to pale yellow. Sporangiolar pedicels slightly to strongly recurved, thin, simple or sympodially branched, forming 1-8 stalked unispored sporangiola. Unispored sporangiola abundant, globose, 7.0-20 μm in diam, brown; wall spinulose, spines ca. 2 μm long, detached by breaking of the pedicel, with a portion of the pedicel remaining on the spore wall. Heterothallic.
