 Description: Ascomata 227-296 μm high, 217-318 μm in diameter, solitary, globose to subglobose, superficial, ostiolate, papillate, coriaceous, thin-walled, brown to reddish-brown. Necks 200-430 μm long, 40-46 μm in diameter, cylindrical, ostiolar canal without periphyses, pale brown to brown. Paraphyses absent. Asci unitunicate, thin-walled, early deliquescing. Ascospores 22-42 × 9-17.5 μm, ellipsoidal, one-septate, slightly or not constricted at the septum, hyaline, surrounded by an exosporic sheath pierced at each apex by a tubelike, slender appendage. Appendages 100-165 μm long, 2-2.5 μm in diameter at the base, ca. 0.5 μm in diameter at the tip, subcylindrical, tapering, hollow, capillary (hairlike, having a small bore), non-gelatinous, persistent; no mucilage is extruded from the polar appendages.
