Description: Colony diameters on Czapek’s Agar 6.3-6.7 cm in 14 days at 25°C, floccose; mycelium white; conidial heads inconspicuous; reverse colorless. At 37°C, colonies floccose; myce-lium white; conidial heads sparse, mostly enmeshed within the mycelium, radiate, tea green to andover green (R., Plate XLVII); reverse colorless to ivory yellow (R., Plate XXX). Colony diameters on Malt Extract Agar larger than 9 cm in 14 days at 25°C, floccose; mycelium white; conidial heads radiate, deep grape green to pois green or asphodel green to lincoln green (R., Plate XLI); reverse cream color to warm buff (R., Plate XVI, XV); stipes smooth, 130-490 × 3.2-9.1 μm; vesicles pyriform to clavate, 5.6-20.6 μm wide. Aspergilla uniseriate, phialides covering 1/2 to 2/3 of the vesicle; conidia subglobose to ovoid, smooth, 2.5-4.8 × 1.7-3.6 μm; cleistothecia abundant, globose to subglobose, white, 135-360 μm wide; asci globose to subglobose, 11.5-13.5 × 10.0-12.7 μm, 8-spored, ascospores lenticular, subglobose to globose, spore bodies 4.0-5.7 × 3.8-5.6 μm, with two distinct longitudinal flanges; convex surfaces rough to conspicuously rough, sometimes irregularly roughened. Colony diameters on Czapek’s Agar with 20% added sucrose larger than 9 cm in 14 days, at 25°C, floccose; mycelium white; conidial heads radiate to loosely columnar or columnar, tea green to vetiver green (R., Plate XLVII); reverse uncolored to ivory yellow (R., Plate XXX). At 37°C, colonies floccose; mycelium white; conidial heads radiate to loosely columnar, tea green to pale vetiver green (R., Plate XLVII); reverse ivory yellow to marguerite yellow (R., Plate XXX).
