Description: Colony diameters on Czapek’s Agar 5.5-6.0 cm in 2 weeks at 25°C, floccose, marginal mycelium submerged; mycelium white to grey white; conidial heads borne beneath the mycelium, lime green to Kronberg’s green (R., Plate XXXI); reverse colorless to violet brown; soluble pigment pale greyish red; exudate uncolored to yellowish brown; vesicles 7.0-16.4 μm in diameter, pyriform to hemispherical; stipe 32-120 × 3.6-7.2 μm, sinuous or straight, smooth, pale brown to brown. Aspergilla biseriate, metulae covering the upper 1/2 of the vesicle, 4.8-8.8 × 2.0-4.8 μm; phialides 5.2-8.0 × 2.2-4.0 μm. Conidia globose, 2.8-4.0 μm in diameter, roughened. Colony diameters on Malt Extract Agar 6.5-7.0 cm in 2 weeks at 25°C, plane, zonation inconspicuous; mycelium white; conidial heads dark cress green to dark dull yellow-green (R., Plate XXXI, XXXII); reverse uncolored to clay color (R., Plate XXIX). Cleistothecia scattered and abundant, dull yellow globose, 92.0-345.0 μm in diameter, surrounded by Hulle cells. Hulle cells ellipsoidal to globose, 9.0-25.0 μm in diameter. Asci globose to subglobose, 8-spored. Ascospores red to purple, smooth, 3.7-5.6 × 2.8-4.0 μm, with 2 narrow longitudinal flanges, with entire margins somewhat wrinkled, up to 1.1 μm long.
