Description: | Ascomata immersed, becoming superficial by shedding of the host epidermis, immersed base, scattered or gregarious, sometimes confluent, subglobose to conical, papillate, 272-371 μm wide, 249-370 μm high. Peridium 35-58 μm thick, thickened towards the apex, composed of small, polygonal, pseudoparenchymatous cells. Pseudoparaphyses hyaline, filiform, branched, 1.6 μm wide. Asci 106-142 × 8-10 μm, bitunicate, basal and peripheral, cylindrical, stalked, apex obtuse, 8-spored. Ascospores 12.6-18 × 5.5-7 μm, oblong to ellipsoid, ends rounded, uniseriate inside ascus, greenish brown, wall smooth, 3-septate, often constricted at primary septum. | |||
